Meet Lynette
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I use a trauma focused lens to help you explore your pain, confusion, stagnation and discontentment. I focus on resilience, grief-work, radical acceptance and tangible interventions to help you take control of your healing.
I strive to create an emotionally safe environment to help you gain self awareness, increase your self compassion and learn tools to strengthen your autonomy and ability to change patterns in your life that are no longer serving you.
I believe in our innate and powerful ability to change as humans. And I believe that I can help you grow in your understanding of yourself and help empower you to heal.
What is Hygge?
I am half Norwegian and have lived in Norway and speak Norwegian with my family. "Hygge" is a Scandinavian word that means soft, warm, cozy, safe, gentle (there isn't really an English equivalent). I love that I get to incorporate a bit of my heritage into my practice.
My Focus
My approach is deeply influenced by models such as Inner Child Work, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work with adults and teens, specializing in trauma, sex therapy, postpartum experiences and life transitions. I am passionate about LGBTQIA+ individuals receiving queer-affirming therapy that empowers and facilitates self compassion and acceptance.
With a compassionate and curious perspective, I can guide and encourage you to begin your own healing. Healing can happen in many different forms and therapy can be a great place to start. You are worthy and deserving of love, belonging and peace-- all of which are attainable and possible for you.
